Breathtaking views
5/5
“We were a last minute booking and Jean and his team were fantastic in making sure the villa was ready and wine in the fridge!
Everything was clean and ready for us to relax into our holiday.
The view from the pool and balcony is stunning, felt very lucky to be there. Thank you :)”
Wonderful villa, fantastic location!
5/5
“We stayed at Jean’s villa for a week in May 2018 and cannot recommend this villa highly enough! For us (two couples, thirty somethings) it was the perfect combination of a spacious, secluded villa where you could happily spend the day, but it’s proximity to the beautiful old town of Sarlat provided a huge selection of restaurants and shops within a short walk!
We particularly loved the outside patio area and gorgeous, well sized pool. There was a large table to eat al fresco which can be covered during the sunny days with an awning. On a couple of nights we used the gas bbq (there is also a charcoal one) and we found the kitchen very well equipped to self cater, a real home from home. There is some lovely comfy outside furniture on which to enjoy a drink in the evenings and the pool has plenty of sun-loungers and parasols. We also made good use of the pool table, there would be plenty to keep kids entertained, table tennis, foosball etc.
The villa has a very homely feel and is clean and well equipped. As two couples we both enjoyed having our own space and a bathroom each.
Despite being so close to town the villa is very private and peaceful, it’s elevated position means it looks over the rooftops of Sarlat. The location was ideal for exploring the area, we hired a car but were grateful we could at least walk into Sarlat for evening meals so that we didn’t have to find parking. Our highlight of the trip was taking a Canoe from Vitrac down the Dordogne river (pack a picnic and pull over on the bank!) and the panoramic views from Domme. The whole area is so picturesque with a chateaux galore, we could have easily spent another week exploring.
Jean and his cousin Etiene were extremely helpful and friendly and very responsive to messages, they really made our stay an easy and very pleasant one. Our welcome gift of a local wine and some delicious smoked duck was greatly appreciated a really nice touch.
We would definitely stay in the villa again should we return to the area, you will not be disappointed! “
Lovely stay in Sarlat
4/5
“We have enjoyed a fabulous week in Sarlat and the house is in a great location a 10 minute walk from the centre of town with the added benefit of not being overlooked. It has excellent facilities and Jean Yves is always looking to make improvements and help whenever possible. Would highly recommend this property.”
Great location and place to stay
5/5
“We stayed here in June 2017 for a week. The villa is fantastic, well equipped with everything we needed and the heated swimming pool was gorgeous. Stunning views from the terrace and lots of outside space. We flew into Bordeaux and found the 2.5 hours drive and finding the villa really easy.
The location is perfect with the villa situated in a quiet area and only being a short 10 minute walk into town with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. So it really is a perfect balance between it being peaceful at the villa and more lively down in the town.
A lot of the attractions and places to see are only a 20 minute drive away, would highly recommend the Marqueyssac gardens as a good place to visit.
The owner and his cousin are really helpful and quick to get back to you if you have any queries or problems.
We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it.
We will look forward to staying here again in the future.”
A lovely secluded renovated farmhouse in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in the Dordogne
5/5
“My wife and I with our two dogs stayed in this property for three weeks in June, 2018. Two other couples also spent several days with us. The property is ideally located on one of the hills overlooking Sarlat. The property is a charming renovated former farmhouse, fully equipped for a large number of guests with air conditioned bedrooms, living and kitchen area. There is a large terrace overlooking a large and very clean 15 metre swimming pool. The excellent laundry room facilities coped very well with our daily needs and there were two large refrigerator/freezers. There are plenty of outdoor garden facilities for guests of all ages, children, teenagers and indeed older active people. Satellite TV and wifi-fi. It was 10 minute stroll down into the town ,avoiding main roads, which was preferable to a 10-15 minute drive and having to find a car parking space, especially on the very busy market days in the town. Etienne was our main local contact and despite being an active member of the emergency services responded to our occasional requests for advice and assistance without delay and in a pleasant and friendly manner. My wife and I have no hesitation in recommending this property to anybody.”
